Newly Acquired Powers of the Web Platform

The web is moving at a rapid pace, and for a lot of people frameworks like React are all they know, leaving changes to the underlying web platform unknown, under-applied, and unappreciated. This talk is about the core of the web: HTML and CSS and the great deal of changes and improvements they've seen in the past few years. Covering everything from the dialog element, to the View Transition API, to scroll-driven animations, to anchor positioning, to CSS variables and even functions in CSS. This talk is a surface-level, but informative, and likely for many people eye-opening look at what the native web platform can achieve without the need for frameworks and abstraction. It covers many new features, complete with fancy demos and code examples.
