AI-Induced Psychosis at Work: The hidden employee mental health risk organisations are ignoring
🕓 11:40 am - 12:25 pm📍 River Room 3 (Lv 3)
As AI systems become increasingly personalised, emotionally intelligent and persistent, employees are beginning to use them not only for productivity but also for validation, therapy, companionship and decision-making support. Features such as memory, personalised personas, reinforcement learning, adaptive communication styles and always-on availability are creating new workplace risks that many organisations have yet to recognise.
This session explores:
* How AI personalisation and memory features can reinforce or challenge beliefs, behaviours and emotional dependency.
* The impact of AI companionship and therapeutic interactions on employee wellbeing, judgement and workplace relationships.
* Emerging risks around delusion reinforcement and confirmation bias
* Where organisational responsibility begins when employees use AI as a de facto therapist, mentor or confidant.
* Technical, governance and policy controls organisations can implement to reduce risk while enabling innovation.

Dunja Lewis
Championing trust, empathy and responsible innovation | AIUC Global | Mollitiam Solutions | Digital Directors ANZ
Dunja is the Founder of Mollitiam Solutions, a Director of Digital Directors Australia and New Zealand, and the Chief Innovation Officer at AIUC Global. She spends her days at the intersection of corporate governance, emerging technology and organisational transformation, and she has a rare gift for turning complex, fast-moving industry developments into practical insights that leaders and boards can actually use to navigate risk, opportunity and change in a deeply uncertain governance landscape. Through AIUC, she helps organisations adopt AI responsibly while building real AI capability across their teams. And through Mollitiam Solutions, she supports the design and delivery of practical solutions using frontier AI models, turning responsible-AI principles into real-world results. She's also a member of the Main Branch of the Australian Institute of Transformation and AI, and serves on both the AI in Society Committee and the AI Tech Advancement Committee of the Australian Computer Society, where she's helping shape the national conversation on AI governance and responsible innovation.
