Computers crash so why don't they cause aircraft to crash..?!

🕓 11:10 AM - 11:30 AM📍 Room 6 - Victory Lounge (Lv 2)
Computers are heavily involved in making aircraft fly safely and efficiently, so when a computer crashes why doesn't the aircraft also crash? I will delve into the marriage of mechanics and electronics including software design in modern aircraft systems and how they work to ensure safe and efficient flight and how they reduce pilot workload. I use laypersons language, household props, and simple diagrams to break down and explain how these complex and technical systems work so any person will find my talk entertaining and understandable. I am open to answering questions from the audience at the end of the talk.

It’s such a privilege to be able to run this conference and DDD Perth would love to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land in which DDD is created, presented, and shared, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
