Story points are the most widely used tool by development teams to estimate their work. Since their use is so widespread, surely, they must be best tool for the job? But what if there was something better, something simpler, that not only provided better accuracy but eliminated the disputes over whether a story is worth 2 or 3 points ;) Throughout my professional career, I’ve been on numerous projects and repeatedly seen the flaws of using story points to provide dependable forecasts.
