Escaping the Vortex: Or How I Learned to Stop Procrastinating and Get Things Done (Mostly)

🕓 10:10 am - 10:55 am📍 Yiibi (Black Cockatoo)
Ever picked up your phone and sternly told yourself 5 minutes later to put it down, only to discover you haven't actually done the task you picked it up for? Put off an important task and ended up with not quite enough time to do it as well as you'd like? Realised it's now a whole hour after you promised yourself you'd scroll for "just five minutes more"? Hard same, friend. We've built a world with so many things competing for our attention that it's easy to get sucked into the vortex of distraction. Our best intentions end up sabotaged by our lack of focus and the short-term rewards that procrastination gives us. In this session, I'll be talking about the techniques and tools I've used on my ongoing journey to become distraction-resistant and procrastination-free. Find out what I've learned, what has worked, what hasn't - and what might work for you.

It's such a privilege to be able to run this conference and DDD Perth would love to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land in which DDD is created, presented, and shared, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
