  Technology has been part of my working career since before PC’s were even invented. I was hooked the first time I was given a computer and I immediately wanted to embrace the new world and to assist others to embrace it as well. This led me away from accounting to the world of IT management consulting which has been my “home” for 30 years. I have managed teams of in-house developers, vendor development companies, business analysts, UX designers, "agilists", end users, testers as well as small and medium sized company branches. I have been lucky enough to have worked on or managed projects for all kinds of technology - including some that have come and gone and others that are so much a part of our lives it is hard to imagine a life without them. Be it IT applications or infrastructure, cloud, mobile telephone networks or even Control Systems, my career has given me the opportunity to work with technologies that have had significant impacts on organisations and people. Though the technology changes, in many ways the problems remain unchanged. Technology may provide many solutions, but it is there to improve the lives of people therefore it should always be designed to meet the needs of people.
