As computers continue to become faster, and programming languages more powerful and abstract, the question arises: is there still a need for the humble pointer? I will demonstrate why the answer is 'yes', and show some practical scenarios in C# where some basic pointer skills pave the way for simpler and more efficient applications on today's desktops and devices.
